Trevin Beattie [1] 發現一個問題，可在多執行緒 Java 應用程式中觀察到懸置的執行緒。在為此問題除錯之後，很明顯懸置的執行緒是由 commons-httpclient 中的 SSL 初始化程式碼所造成。此上傳透過在與伺服器進行 SSL 交握期間遵守設定的 SO_TIMEOUT 來修正此問題。
