由於 1.2.11-6+squeeze15 的反向移植上游修補程式並未修正所有待處理的問題，且有些問題甚至尚未公開追蹤，因此 LTS 團隊決定將 squeeze-lts 的 wireshark 套件與 wheezy-security 同步化，以提供最佳的安全性支援。

請注意，將 Wireshark 從 1.2.x 升級至 1.8.x 時，會在套件結構中引入數個無法向後相容的變更、共用程式庫 API/ABI、解剖器可用性和命令行參數語法。

注意：Tenable Network Security 已直接從 DLA 安全性公告擷取前置描述區塊。Tenable 已盡量在不造成其他問題的前提下，嘗試自動清理並將其格式化。
