據發現，檔案類型分類工具 file 中含有與 libmagic 程式庫之‘indirect’ magic 規則處理相關的瑕疵，會導致嘗試判斷特定檔案的檔案類型時發生無限遞迴。Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures 專案已將 ID CVE-2014-1943 指派給此瑕疵以利識別。此外，其他特製的檔案可能導致長運算時間 (使用 100% CPU 時) 及過長結果。解決方案
升級檔案套件。針對舊的穩定發行版本 (squeeze)，此問題已在 5.04-5+squeeze3 版中修正。
針對穩定的發行版本 (wheezy)，此問題已在 5.11-2+deb7u1 版中修正。
