在 Python repr() 函式處理 UTF-32/UCS-4 字串的方式中發現一個瑕疵。如果以 Python 編寫的應用程式對不受信任的資料使用 repr() 函式，這可導致拒絕服務，或可能允許以 Python 應用程式的權限執行任意程式碼。(CVE-2006-4980)

此外，此錯字勘誤表也修正了適用於 Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 之 SimpleXMLRPCServer 反向移植中的一個迴歸，其是 RHSA-2005:109 所引入。

Python 使用者應升級至這些更新版套件，其中包含可更正此問題的反向移植修補程式。
