PostgreSQL 是一種進階物件關聯式資料庫管理系統 (DBMS)。
pg_dump 公用程式確實在其所產生 SQL 指令碼的註解中插入物件名稱。無權限的資料庫使用者可建立一個物件，其名稱包含後面接上 SQL 命令的新行字元。
在稍後還原備份轉儲存期間，這個 SQL 命令可能接著由有權限的使用者執行，進而達到權限提升。
(CVE-2012-0868)
當設定為執行 SSL 憑證驗證時，PostgreSQL 只檢查了憑證「共用名稱」欄位的前面 31 個字元。根據不同的組態，這個問題可使攻擊者模擬使用由信任的憑證授權單位核發出不同名稱之憑證的伺服器或用戶端。(CVE-2012-0867)
CREATE TRIGGER 未對所要呼叫的觸發函式進行權限檢查。這可能使經過驗證的資料庫使用者在其選擇的資料上呼叫有權限的觸發函式。
