Linux/Unix 主機上安裝了一個或多個受到弱點影響的套件，且供應商未提供可用的修補程式。- shell-quote 的 'quote（）' 函式並未根據 'parse（）' 使用的運算子模型驗證物件權杖輸入。'.op' 欄位是使用 '/（.）/g'，在 JavaScript 中不符合行終止符 （\n， ， \rU+2028， U+2029）。因此，'.op' 中的行終止符以未逸出的方式傳遞到輸出中;POSIX shell 將文字換行符視為命令分隔符，因此之後的任何內容都會作為第二個命令執行。易受攻擊的程式碼路徑可透過兩種方式連線：
（1） 直接建構 '{ op： '...\n...' }' 來自外部輸入，以及 （2） 當 'envFn' 傳回其 '.op' 受攻擊者影響的物件權杖時，透過 'parse（cmd， envFn）'。兩者都是記錄的 API 介面。透過將每個字元的逸出取代為嚴格的形狀驗證來修正：'.op' 必須符合剖析器的控制運算子允許清單;'{ op： 'glob'， pattern }' 驗證 'pattern' 並禁止行終止符;'{ comment}' 驗證 'comment' 並禁止行終止符;任何其他物件形狀都會擲回 'TypeError'。
