在 3.107 版之前的 LinuxTV xawtv 中發現一個問題。v4l-conf.c 中的 dev_open() 函式未執行充分檢查，以防止程式的無權限呼叫者開啟非預期的檔案系統路徑。這允許可存取 v4l-conf setuid-root 程式的本機攻擊者測試任意檔案的存在，並在 O_RDWR 模式下觸發任意檔案的開啟。若要達到此目的，必須將相對路徑元件新增至裝置路徑，如 v4l-conf -c /dev/../root/.bash_history 命令所示。針對 Debian 8「Jessie」，已在 3.103-3+deb8u1 版本中修正此問題。
