    Kyu Neushwaistein，也就是 Carlos Cortes Alvarez 發現，常見網路程式的 inetutils 容易受到 telnetd 中的驗證繞過問題影響，會導致遠端 root 殼層存取 (若 telnetd 已啟用且已洩漏)。

    也如 GNU InetUtils 安全公告中所述，完全不建議執行 telnetd 伺服器。請至少將對 telnet 連接埠的網路存取限制為僅限受信任的用戶端。因為 telnet 通訊協定中根本沒有內建加密，所以驗證詳細資料會以純文字透過網路傳送 (因此需要受到信任)。
